James is responsible for River and Mercantile’s US derivatives group, which manages derivative strategies on behalf of pension plans, endowments and insurance companies. He provides bespoke strategies to address the unique risk management needs of institutional investors.
Prior to River and Mercantile, James was an investment manager at Legal and General and was responsible for the investment strategy of the company’s US insurance business. James started his career at Aon in London as a consultant to defined benefit pension plans where he developed Aon’s LDI solutions, strategic asset allocation process and analytics.
James is a qualified actuary and holds a Masters degree in Physics (summa cum laude) from The University of Oxford.
